The Office of Student Services is responsible for administering policies that concern student life. Rocky Vista University policies are set forth in the Student Handbook, and are designed to produce a positive climate for developing students' potential.
As the university grows, various clubs and organizations will be available to students and approved through the Office of Student Services.

1. Academic Advising
The Office of the Associate Dean for Student Services assures that each student is assigned an academic adviser upon entering the college. In addition, each of these offices are available to provide academic, professional, career and personal advisement and mentorship.
2. Administration/Faculty Office Hours
The COM administration endorses an open door policy and encourages students to meet with the faculty and members of the administration regularly. While walk-in consultations and conferences are possible when faculty is available, office hours are established and posted by the administration and faculty for student appointments. Faculty members will be available by office hours as stated in the syllabus, email, and/or appointment.
3. Pre/Postdoctoral Information Resources
While an essential part of the college's mission is to educate primary care physicians for underserved areas in Colorado and the Mountain West, the college strives to assist students in making decisions about their own professional careers and personal lives. Toward this end, the college's Office of Student and Administrative Services provides a wide range of materials and information on:
The Office's of the Associate Dean for Student Services and the Associate Dean of Clinical Affaira offer individualized counseling and information on careers in medicine, residency programs and the resident match, hospitals, clinic based and private practices; group and solo practice; public health organizations; military carriers and managed health care organizations.
First and second year students are introduced to careers in medicine through the clinical medicine and shadowing programs. Second- and third-year students are invited to events organized on campus to allow them to meet with current clinical students, residents and representatives from hospitals that sponsor training programs throughout the nation to prepare them for selecting predoctoral and postdoctoral training sites.
The Office of Alumni Affairs will maintain a file on current job opportunities available for review by all students and alumni.
4. Special Counseling Arrangements
The university will provide counseling and mental health services. Students who need assistance may contact the professionals directly or may receive assistance through the Office of the Associate Dean or through the student health clinic.
Crisis counseling is available 24 hours a day, seven days per week.
5. Financial Affairs
The university and college provide counselors and services to assist students in meeting their needs for assistance in financing their education and living expense while enrolled at the COM. The counselors meet with each student at the beginning of their educational career and annually while enrolled. The university and college will assist each student in completing applications for loans, scholarships, stipends and other financial vehicles.
6. Leave of Absence, Transfers, Medical Leaves etc.
The Offices of the Associate Dean for Student Services is the source of information and assistance for students needing assistance personally as well as academically.
