OMM Lab"I have been an educator all my adult life. Regardless of subject matter or age of student my philosophy has always remained the same. We teach by example, we are what we teach. The astute student will learn from his teacher the good and the bad. With a solid foundation and proper direction for the future, educators mold the adult of tomorrow. As a physician educator we have the responsibility to produce physicians that can meet the demands of an ever-changing field of medicine, as well as the expectations of society. Along with values of humanism, compassion, empathy, honesty and respect, we must enable our students with skills of competency in the technical as well as social sense. We do not practice medicine in a vacuum, but rather part of a community. The physician of tomorrow must be able to integrate all he has learned with his practice. As a physician educator we are the mentors, we set the example. As an inaugural faculty member of RVU I will be able to explore and expand my skills as a physician, educator and mentor."
