Brian Schwartz

Brian Schwartz, M.L.I.S.
Assistant Librarian

Brian Schwartz is a graduate of the University of Kansas and the University of Denver, earning a Bachelor of Arts in English at KU and a Master’s degree in Library and Information Science at DU.

Mr. Schwartz worked in information technology, directing quality assurance departments for two internet start-up companies, and in education as a teacher for over 10 years. During his time in the classroom, Mr. Schwartz taught subjects ranging from science to religion, from literature to Judaic Studies. He developed curricula and teaching methodologies for courses in study skills and computer and library literacy.

After working in education and IT, he came to the realization that he loved finding information–-viewing it as a puzzle to be solved-- and quickly realized that the best way to pursue this love was to go to Library School. Upon graduation, Mr. Schwartz worked at St. Mary’s Academy in Englewood, Colorado as the Librarian in the Middle School, working on building the library and integrating it into the mainstream of the school.

A deep respect for osteopathic medicine lead Mr. Schwartz to RVU, and his favorite aspects of working at RVU are the talented and dedicated faculty, connecting with the students and assisting them on their path to become doctors.

Mr. Schwartz and his wife, Michelle, have two wonderful daughters, Macey, age 5, and Avery, age 2. He is an avid golfer and sports fan who enjoys spending free time with family and friends.
