Dr. Laura Mohr

Laura A. Mohr, Ph.D.
Assistant Professor of Behavioral Medicine

Dr. Mohr is a licensed marriage and family therapist with seven years experience coordinating the behavioral science education for osteopathic internships and residency programs in Michigan including family medicine, internal medicine, obstetrics/gynecology, and physical medicine and rehabilitation. Dr. Mohr develops behavioral science education for both physicians and physicians in training. Currently, Dr. Mohr coordinates the Behavioral Science education to medical students at Rocky Vista University.

Dr. Mohr’s focus is physician well being, collaborative health care and mental health education. She has been in clinical practice for approximately 10 years, providing therapy for individuals, couples, and families in the outpatient setting. She received her Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy at Northern Illinois University and her Ph.D. from Michigan State University in Family and Child Ecology with a specialization in Marriage and Family Therapy and an emphasis on Medical Family Therapy. Dr. Mohr is an Approved Supervisor and a Clinical Member through the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy (AAMFT). She also actively serves on the national AAMFT Board of Directors.
Dr. Mohr spends her free time with her three children, Makayla (6), Amelia (3) and Mitchell (9 mo.) and her husband of 12 years, Dr. Thomas Mohr, exploring the nuances of Colorado. Her personal interests include ballroom dancing and traveling whenever possible.
