Dr. Barbekka Hurtt

Barbekka Hurtt, Ph.D.
Assistant Professor of Physiology

Dr. Barbekka Hurtt received her Ph.D. in Neuroscience from the University of Colorado at Boulder in 2002. Her research focus was sensorimotor integration and nervous system pattern generating mechanisms in the production of rhythmic, coordinated behaviors. She spent three years of post-doctoral training at the Harvard School of Public Health working on neuromechanics of human walking and studying retrograde axonal transport of pharmaceutical excipients in the brain. She comes to RVU after two years as an Assistant Professor at Shenandoah University in Winchester, Virginai in the graduate health professions schools and the undergraduate biology program.
