Faculty Positions

Rocky Vista University College of Osteopathic Medicine is seeking applications at all professional ranks for the following positions in the Departments of Primary and Specialty Medicine. All positions require a DO or MD degree, current board certification and current Colorado license or eligibility for Colorado license.

Chair, Department of Specialty Medicine

This is a full-time faculty position at the level of associate professor or full professor in the College of Osteopathic Medicine for academic clinicians holding the D.O. or M.D. degree. The Department of Specialty Medicine includes all clinical specialties except for Family Medicine, Pediatrics, and Osteopathic Principles and Practices. Certification in internal medicine is preferred, but other specialties will be considered.  While there are potential opportunities for clinical practice, this is primarily a full-time academic position. 

 

Chair, Department of Biomedical Sciences

This is a full-time faculty position at the level of associate professor or full professor in the College of Osteopathic Medicine for an academician holding a PhD in Biomedical Science and at least five (5) years academic experience as a full-time faculty member at a College of Medicine.  The successful candidate will have demonstrated leadership and productivity in the area of medical education and the proven ability to plan, direct, and implement programs policies and procedures for the Department of Biomedical Science. 

 

Individuals selected for these key positions as Departmental Chairs will have the unique opportunity to participate in designing the educational programs of the COM in its early evolution, and outstanding interpersonal and teamwork skills are required.

Position:  Professor of Physiology

Rocky Vista University College of Osteopathic Medicine (RVUCOM) is seeking applications for a full-time faculty position at either the Assistant, Associate or Full Professor level for an individual with a PhD in Biomedical Science and the ability to demonstrate knowledge and skill in the delivery of medical education, knowledge of varied curriculum templates and the ability to mentor and motivate students and peers.  Two years academic experience as a faculty member at a College of Medicine is highly desirable.

Staff Positions

Rocky Vista University College of Osteopathic Medicine is seeking applications for the following staff positions.  These positions support the activities and goals of the College of Osteopathic Medicine.

Position:  Senior Financial Analyst

This full-time position is responsible for financial modeling and forecasting, budget planning, pro-forma business alternative planning for university strategic initiatives.  The incumbent is also responsible for general ledger accounting including transaction processing, account analysis, reconciliations and schedules using spreadsheets (Excel) and other programs and financial analysis software.  Candidates must possess knowledge of all areas of financial analysis, including data mining techniques utilizing Excel, Crystal Reports and other software applications.  This position requires a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance or a related field, extensive financial modeling and financial analysis experience, strong accounting, quantitative and financial skills are required.  Candidates with at least 5 to 8 years of total work experience, including significant experience in a corporate finance, management consulting, investment banking, or venture capital environment and experience in a private equity investment role are strongly encouraged to apply.  Knowledge of enterprise valuation modeling and financial model development is required.

Position:  Medical Assistant

The Medical Assistant will assist physicians by providing a variety of patient services, including assessment of patient needs, collection and documentation of the patient’s current health status, and performing basic laboratory tests and specimen collection.  Successful candidates must possess a High School Diploma or equivalent, as well as a Medical Assistant Certificate, and have previous experience as a Medical Assistant in an outpatient setting.  Adherence to the Clinic standards regarding the confidential treatment of patient information is a condition of employment.

 

Position:  Medical Receptionist

The Medical Receptionist supports physicians and other staff in the daily operation of the RVU health clinic by serving as the first point of contact for patients and visitors of the clinic, both in person and over the phone.  In addition to reception duties, this position is also responsible to provide a variety of clerical support services, such as scheduling g appointments and assisting with billing procedures.  The Medical Receptionist must demonstrate outstanding organizational and communication skills, as well as the ability to work with confidential material with an attention to detail.   Adherence to the Clinic standards regarding treatment of confidential patient information is a condition of employment.  Successful candidates must possess a High School Diploma, or equivalent, as well as data entry training and/or experience.  One to two years Medical Reception experience with multi-line computerized phone systems is also required.

 

Position:  Clinical Rotations Information Analyst

This full-time position provides clinical rotations informatics resources for the office of Clinical Affairs.  This position manages the specialized web-based medical education software One45.  The successful candidate will also educate others on the utilization of this software and will serve as the liaison with software vendors, staff and faculty.  Finally, this position serves as the front-end designer of the online modules and surveys available through this software and facilitates back-end data retrieval.  In order to be considered for this position, candidates must have graduated from an accredited college or university with a bachelor’s degree in a related field and possess one year of experience as a trainer and/or one year of experience in a medical education setting.  Preferred qualifications include experience working within a higher education and/or academic medical environment, experience providing training in a specialized field, and knowledge of medical clinical rotations.
