The Chief Academic Officer and Dean for the College of Osteopathic Medicine is Ronnie B. Martin, D.O., FACOFP-dist.
Dr. Martin, a board-certified osteopathic family physician, is a 1974 graduate of Southwestern Oklahoma University College of Pharmacy and a 1979 graduate of the Oklahoma State University of Osteopathic Medicine and Surgery. He completed his post graduate training through the Rural Consortium of Enid Regional Hospital and the Tulsa Regional Hospital.
Dr. Martin practiced family medicine and was engaged in the clinical education of medical students and graduates in both Enid and Tulsa, Oklahoma from 1980 until leaving active practice in 1999 to pursue a full-time career dedicated to medical education. After serving as Chairman of the Department of Family Practice at Des Moines University College of Osteopathic Medicine from 1999 to 2001, he became Chairman of the Department of Family Medicine at Nova Southeastern University College of Osteopathic Medicine in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida in 2001. In 2003, he was promoted to the position of Associate Dean for Academic Affairs at Nova Southeastern University College of Osteopathic Medicine.
Dr. Martin was installed as the president of the American College of Osteopathic Family Physicians (ACOFP) during its 45th Annual Convention & Exhibition in Denver, Colorado on March 12, 2008.

Welcome to Rocky Vista University College of Osteopathic Medicine. and thank you for visiting our university and college through this Web site.
The board of directors, administration, faculty and staff are excited and optimistic about our development, evolution, maturation and future. We welcome all who share our vision and agree with our mission to join us as we move forward toward making a difference in the lives of our students, faculty and the citizens of our state, region and nation.
Currently the college has obtained the recognition and accreditation required by the United States Department of Education, The Colorado Commission on Higher Education and the Commission on Osteopathic College Accreditation , an affiliate of the American Osteopathic Association, to operate as a college of osteopathic medicine, admit students and offer education leading to the degree, Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine. The college has begun recruiting and accepting students this fall, 2007 and anticipates matriculating its first class of students in August of 2008.
The faculty and staff of Rocky Vista University College of Osteopathic Medicine are committed to osteopathic philosophy and heritage and to advancing the science and the art of the practice of osteopathic medicine. We feel that in doing so, we can best serve the needs of our students and the patients they will care for throughout their professional careers.
We are dedicated to recruiting and providing an osteopathic medical education for students from Colorado and the Mountain West Region. We welcome students from across the country to join us in our efforts toward increasing the number of physicians in Colorado and the Mountain West Region.
