Accreditation: The college has been granted provisional accreditation from the American Osteopathic Association Commission on Osteopathic College Accreditation; an agency recognized by the United States Department of Education and by the Colorado Commission for Higher Education to deliver professional osteopathic medical education and grant degrees.

Number of Employees: At the time of matriculation of RVUCOM's first class the university is expected to employ 100 physicians, professors, researchers and ancillary staff

  • Campus Development: The campus site in the city of Parker and Douglas County, Colorado will include state of the art educational facilities with a total of 145,000 sq. ft.
  • Future plans include 50,000 additional sq. ft. of facilities in Phase Two of the development of the university and up to 150,000 sq. ft. of campus resources during Phase Three.
  • Total acreage at the Parker campus is scheduled to be 40 acres.

Groundbreaking Ceremony

On Friday, March 23 the university held its ground breaking ceremony at the new campus site on Chambers Road in Parker, Colorado.

The board of trustees and administration of the university were honored by and grateful for the participation in the ceremony of John Strosnider, D.O., AOA president; Brad Wright, Community Hospital in Grand Junction, CEO; Tom Mino, D.O., Colorado Society of Osteopathic Medicine president; Dr. Bruce Wallace, University of Colorado College of Medicine assistant dean; and David Casiano, Parker mayor.

The construction project for the campus and its ~145,000 sq. feet of facilities is scheduled to take 14 months, with occupancy of the college scheduled for June of 2008.
