Clinic Receptionist
The Receptionist assists the physicians and other staff in daily operations of a
medical office.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

Professionally answer phones and take appropriate
messages.

Check voice mail in the morning and after lunch.

Greet patients; identify their purpose and the
clinical person(s) they wish to see.

Schedule appointments.

Generate and follow up on referrals to medical
specialists.

Assist with medical billing procedures.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND
ABILITIES:

Outstanding organizational and communication skills.
-
Demonstrate intermediate data entry knowledge and
computer skills including Windows, Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and
PowerPoint.

Demonstrate professional telephone etiquette.

Ability to work with confidential material with an
attention to detail. Ability to comply
with HIPAA policy and procedure.

Ability to multi-task and problem solve innovatively.

Ability to work effectively in a team-based
environment.

Demonstrate effective time management skills and
ability to meet deadlines.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

High school diploma or equivalent with data entry
training required.

One-two years medical receptionist experience with
multi-line computerized phone systems.
-
One-two years previous clerical experience or
equivalent training.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
-
Some college preferred.
